Michalis Goumas (born March 31, 1984) is a Greek visual artist and photographer from Kythnos, primarily active in painting and photography. His artistic work is characterized by a dynamic exploration of form, texture, and perception, often blending traditional techniques with contemporary concepts.

Goumas has presented his painting exhibitions both in Greece (Athens) and internationally in the USA (Colorado, San Francisco). His most recent and notable exhibition, Anamorphic Portraiture, was showcased through Mirus Gallery in Denver, USA, highlighting his innovative approach to portraiture and visual distortion.

That same year, he was one of three artists selected by Johnny Walker to reinterpret the iconic “Striding Man” logo as part of the whisky brand’s 200-year anniversary celebration, merging commercial design with artistic expression.

In 2023, Goumas launched his major photographic project Summer Renaissance, which has gained international recognition. This project has been exhibited across four continents, including countries such as Canada, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, England, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Cyprus, Turkey, Singapore, and Australia. Through this series, Goumas explores themes of rebirth, nature, and human connection, capturing vibrant and evocative imagery.

Goumas draws deep inspiration from his homeland, Kythnos, where the solitude and natural beauty have profoundly influenced his artistic vision and creative process. His painting and photography work continues to evolve, reflecting a balance between introspection and expansive visual storytelling.
