Description

George Alexandrakis is a photographer, visual artist, and journalist, born and raised in Crete. His journey into the arts started early, and after completing his basic studies, he pursued higher education at the University of Western Athens. To expand his skills, he continued with online photography studies in the USA and attended various art workshops, including a program authorized by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Currently, he is a postgraduate student in film creative writing at the University of Western Macedonia – Greece.

His work has been exhibited in numerous art spaces and is available for purchase at the Artshop of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens (EMST) and Mamush Gallery in Kifisia. Over the years, he has showcased his photography in five solo exhibitions across Athens, Mykonos, Syros, and other locations, as well as in over thirty group exhibitions worldwide. His solo show at Adam Gallery in 2010 was introduced by art historian and artist Mina Papatheodorou Valyraki.

For more than nine years, he worked in his own studio in Greece while collaborating with an international art magazine. His passion for art extends to writing, and he has been creating interviews and articles for CITY CODE MAGAZINE for many years.

In 2008, he participated in the International Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition Hearts in Athens, and during the 50th Anniversary of The Smurfs, his design was awarded the jury critics’ prize. His photographs have been featured in art books, magazines, and academic publications, and he has created conceptual photography for theatrical performances as well as original campaigns for both international and local brands.

George also specializes in concept development and storytelling, crafting compelling visual narratives for advertising campaigns that connect brands with their audiences in a meaningful way.

Pigment fine art prints have a lifespan of up to 50 years or even more, depending on the specifications of each paper (OBA percentage, acid free, etc.). Acryluxe prints have a lifetime of up to 10 years or even more, as defined by the certifications provided by the manufacturing companies. ChromaLuxe Metal Prints have a lifetime of up to 64 years, as defined by the certifications provided by the manufacturing company ChromaLuxe and Wilhelm Imaging Research, without these being at the same time a guarantee of lifetime and this because there can be no control as to conditions in which the prints are exposed at the end.

These certifications tests have been carried out under specific exposure conditions, such as indoor use, no sunlight or uv radiation, 20˚C – 28˚C temperature, 60% humidity and absence of environmental or other air pollution. Any deviation from the above can reduce the lifespan and affect the quality of the prints. Under normal conditions of sun exposure (direct or even reflected), the lifespan can be reduced to less than 5 years. Photolab Athens informs about the certifications of each method by the manufacturing companies, but does not guarantee the lifetime of the prints.

The products sold on the Site are digital prints some of them numbered and in limited edition. The digital prints are offered in one or more formats and print options, according to the suggestions made between the artist or his/her representatives and Signature Prints. The final paper print may be modified without any prior warning but replaced by a similar characteristics paper. The digital prints are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity in English.
